At a $425 million jackpot, what would you have done with the money?

Given that it was the lump of $425 million, no taxes or anything

In terms of what I'd do, I'd:

- invest and save a good chunk of it

- move out

- get a BMW M6 and a Bentley continental GT SS

- pay off both parents mortgages

- get a yacht

- buy a $10 million dollar condo in Vancouver, BC

- buy a Rolls Royce for the condo

    1. save about 100mil in the bank and let it gain interest.

    2. pay off my sisters school. she goes to a private college and it costs a lot i know my dad is tired of working and i don't think my sister shows much sympathy.

    3. buy me a motorcycle and a new car. nothing fancy preferably old classic models rusty as shet yet fixable.

    4. either buy a house or pay off current house ( im only 20 and my grandpa owns the house we are living in it will be paid off soon though in about 20 years or less ).

    5. buy my dad a new truck again nothing fancy. his current car is 1999 and it's already beat up having engine problems and what not. tried getting it fixed one problem after another and no it's not the mechanics.

    6. give about 100k to my friend in california he works full time a dead end job and started going back to college on ONE occasion he uses at least 20k for his wedding if not more. he had proposed to his fiance idk how long now seems like a long time and yet never got married due to money issues. the rest i hope they use for a good cause.

    7. use about another 100k for another friend in louisiana her husband works for a company i forgot what company while she has no college degree or works all she does is stay home watching her child whom now is old. on one condition. they set half of that money for their childs future. the rest they cna do w.e. with.

    8. lastely i'd give about 100k to an ex friend. although we don't talk anymore due to quarles i know she has health problems that are serious. her husband works at a comic book shop and she has 1 son from another guy who died in an accident. she doesn't work because she can't due to her health problems. one condition she stops smoking. no the risks are not linked to her smoking but she does smoke like an idiot knowing it will eventually kill her.

other then that i'd keep the rest and save it for my future family. i won't let them know how much money i got and try to live a simple life.

I would hire a financial adviser because I don't even know how to STORE that much money safely. (Credit unions and banks will only insure your deposits up to $100,000.) Then I would try to figure out where I could move to and HIDE, because charities, 23rd cousins, and all kinds of nutjobs would show up at my front door with their hands out looking for money.

After I resolved those two problems, I'd pay off my debts, give a nice big chunk to charity, either directly or through my own foundation (that's one of those questions I'd need a financial adviser for), get a new (or at least newer) car, and buy a small house for myself somewhere. Then I might see about hiring a chauffeur or a car service for my mom because she's 85. I'd give my nieces and my nephew a little nest egg, and I'd build a college fund for my grand niece. I'd probably travel for a while. I'd like to see the Vatican and Međugorje. I'd also like to visit relatives in various parts of this country.

After a while, I'd have to find something to do, like start my own business or charitable foundation. I've found that I need structure in my life, something to do every day, to keep from going bonkers.
