2 Stroke - Racing Reed Valves?

Question

I ordered some racing reed valves yesterday, and was just wondering will the effects be noticeable? I've heard claims of improved throttle response, but have no idea personally. Is there anyone who has used them before? They're being used on a stock 100cc 2 stroke engine. It does have an after-market exhausts system though, an open air-filter & is jetted to match if that makes a difference. Thanks.

I had a 47-49cc pocket bike/rocket and upgraded the reeds and I got better throttle response but nothing crazy. 

What helped way more than the reeds was I took my dremel and bored out the plastic/rubber intake and the carb hole and I got way more power. 

A lighter clutch also helped and stiffer clutch springs. 1 way to lighten it is to drill a few holes in the clutch shoes but that's for automatic engine not a manual that you shift your self and you need to drill the holes in the same spot on the shoes so it stays balanced or you will get a lot of vibration.. 

Depending how your fly wheel is to you might be able to snap off every other wing to lighten it if its that kind of designed.  

You can also port the engine 1-2mm your self with the dremel if you have one. 

Make sure your breaks are adj right so they are not dragging.

Your exhaust header take it off the engine and when you look in it you might see chunky nasty welding so grind that off for better air flow if your exhaust is that way. .

its a question of frequency - will the reed valves resonate at the frequencies (rpm) you require.

If the originals did this already then the difference will be less than impressive. but dont worry you can still brag about it just as long as you dont try to overtake anyone
