Fitted 'Racing Reed Valves' - Loss Of Performance!?

Hi. So I fitted racing reed valves (For the first time) today, and the performance has de-creased. I've lost a little acceleration, and on the top end I've lost around 10mph. The engine is a 100cc Minarelli 2 stroke one. The new reed valves that I placed in came with 6 valves. Where as the stock ones had only 4. The mods on the scooter so far are; Open air filter, Exhaust system, Re-Jetted, Racing Variator, Lighter Rollers, Up-Rated clutch springs. Before, it would pull off the line sluggish then shoot into the powerband. Now, it does pull a little better off the line but it feels like it's holding back and the powerband is not as harsh. I was wondering, is their a 'break in period' for these reed valves? Or has something gone wrong somewhere. Thank You.

Update:

Hi, the scooter (Benelli K2100cc 2T) is used as a little run around. I've been riding almost 6 years, my other bike is a 600cc. The engine on the Benelli is stock, they do a 50cc and 100cc version. Mine is the 100cc.

Update 2:

Hi, I think you have a good idea their. As for the reed valve, it was inserted exactly how the stock one was. BUT I do remember having trouble getting the cylinder head rubber in place, it was a little slipper from some fuel. It did move around a little, so perhaps it could have made the gasket move or something. I'll check it out soon, thanks.

What is total port area of the reed valve assembly? what about mounting dimensions- a bit undersized where mounted perhaps or gasket has a feather edge intrusion? Unless you have some legal reason for using a 100cc engine and hot rodding it- better off with a larger engine lie a 250cc. some of the UK people are restricted awhile to 125cc- is this your situation? If not legal restriction, then go for basic stock parts and learn to ride in traffic a year before getting a larger size- my opinion. Minarellis are a decent design with varying sizes on same case- did you start with a 50cc case, put on big bore and the racing reeds are sold as fitting the case part number with the 50cc cylinder yet? that means about like putting on smaller carb on big engine. .

Have to agree with 'curmudgeon' on the intrusion of the gasket or something else blocking movement of the reeds. (hate to be an AH but did you install it upside down?!?)
