can itunes 12 days of gifts (2013/14) be downloaded via itunes on a computer?
on itunes it seems you can only get the 12 gifts if you download an app which i have no way of doing in the past you never needed to is this still the case and if so where do you find them

You can download it on your computer but you can only use it on an iOS7 compatible device. However you don't necessarily need the app to download the freebies. All you have to do is find out what is free, type in "12 days of gifts" in google and some of them contain a direct link or you can go search for it yourself if you know the name of the item.
