Train deal sites, where are they?

I want to travel from Plymouth to Chorley (lancashire) late Feb, early March to see the new love in my life.

I always here about train deals and bus deals etc, people traveling from Lands End to John O Grotes for £5 (you knoe the thing) but for the life of me, I've yet to come across any such deals.

Can anyone point me to a good deal site please, or just advise on how to find a good deal please?

I'm assuming that booking ahead is the keyt to getting a good deal?

There are very few such deals - demand on the trains is so high that companies are more likely to try and encourage people not to travel at the busy times. The cheapest tickets are Advance tickets - which you can buy up the three months before you travel. They are only valid on specific trains - so if you have one make sure you don't miss the train or you will have to pay the full fare.

From Plymouth to Chorley try these sites:

    www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk

    www.crosscountrytrains.co.uk

You will need to book for specifically timed trains from 11 weeks before your journey

An annual railcard will save you a further 34% on your tickets
