i need ltd status to buy in states?

last guy said I don't need ltd status ....well the question is which ltd status would I need im importing from states ...the firm in states have asked for incorporation or I wouldn't bother ..so to all you top answerers please read question before you put your mouths in gear...

    Under UK law there is no requirement for you to be a Limited Company in order to import goods from the USA. It may be that you are trying to buy from a US company which only chooses to deal with limited companies - but that is their choice, not a legal requirement.

    You will find it difficult to become a Limited Comapny if you are, as you say, on your own - sole traders are a different category to limited companies, and I don't think it is possible for a sole trader to register as a limited company. Find a partner, as you must have at least two directors to register with Companies House.
