4 year old with high temp and ocasioanlly join pain?

my 4 year old got a high temp last night, i gave nurofen and 1 hour and a half later her temp was back in the normal range... this morning she woke up crying her head was hurting... her temp was high again too.... i gave nurofen this morning and took her to see a doctor... he asked her about the headache and she said it gets real bad when she coughs. he said its a sinus infection and has prescribed anti-bi's.... at 11:30 i gave more nurofen as she was burning up again... its now halfmost 4:30pm and shes really hot but i can not give more nurofen as it says no more than 3 doses in 24hours. shes lying on the sofa and keeps randomly crying saying her knees hurt and her legs hurt. iv looked but there is nothing there. shes been asleep most of the day and has not eaten but has been drinking milk. is this really a sinus infection? its friday evening and my drs are closing... what do i do?

The symptoms look like a routine viral infection affecting the sinuses. Nearly half the people i work with have been sick this past week with the exact same symptoms. All of them were hit really hard for a couple of days and then recovered a day or two later. You daughter may be very uncomfortable, but there's no danger unless her fever rises to 103 F or more and stops responding to the nurofen. A childrens cold medicine containing only an expectorant and decongestant might make her fell a little more comfortable.

sinus infection with all these symptoms? for sure, there is an infection and if it were a sinus issue, why is her tiny body suffering so much, I think its time to see someone else. High temp indicates infection, how about her urine, was it checked--little girls can get infection since they don't know how to wipe themselves correctly--from the top of the VJJ downwards. See some other doctor because this one is typical--load up the patient with antibiotics to 'cover anything wrong' idea--so stupid a concept. She should get blood work to get a better look at any possible infection.
