if people on Y!A are representative sample of the world population, how would you?
rate/assess the capability of the world? as intelligent, competent or moron
the question is not about the people on Y!A, but about the whole population of the world,
of which i am no doubt a member.
if world population (capability) is as it is,
is there any hope for the world,in particular to humanity?

Let me clue you in on this. :) Please?
Most of the people here on Y!A aren't adults yet--there are an awful lot of teenagers here on the site. This skews things away from "competence" in general because you are dealing with the Young and Younger crowd.
That, however, is not the issue.
The issue is the culture of the site in general and this category in particular.
In general, we're misfits here. We don't fit in to the rest of society much. The teenagers that are here? They have a habit of being the ones who do NOT like Justin Beiber, among other things. The adults who are here? There's a fair number of retirees here, sure, but also a fair number of people here who could, in fact, USE jobs and USE anti-depressants (or better ones than what they have).
We're misfits here, and we're here on a seriously casual, pre-morning-caffiene basis. Meaning "here for giggles." Meaning, ok, we act like morons and herp-a-derp, but really?
It's an act. For most of us, it's an act. The world doesn't WANT us to get serious, and organized.

About 7 of one, 1/2 dozen of the other.........
Hopefully a lot of the impressions formed and made here are skewed by language and general bad writing skills.

If that's the case, we're in a lot more trouble than we ever thought possible.
