Operation Delay - beyond the 18 weeks?

I was due an operation on my neck on 30 December but it was put off because I had not been seen by anaesthetist before Christmas. Saw one one 24th December and they could see no problem as to why the operation should not go ahead as I have no problems with anaesthetics. I seem to have dropped off the radar again- so, what is the deal? Can I ask to go to a private hospital as it has been now 5 months since they agreed I needed the operation? This is a UK question

..but than it might be that you have to pay this by your own, so you better ask the insurance again what will happen, and you might see the doctor one more time and ask him what's going on, if they see any problems and if he says no than why nothing is going on anymore. I personally doubt that you have the chance to get it done in a private hospital and even if so, than you have to undergo all these examinations again..
