What is the Best Color for a Persian Cat ?

There's no "best" colour. If you mean what's more popular at shows - really isn't one colour. I show cats and the top cats in TICA are solids, bicolour, tortie, tabby, torbie, smoke - everything Persians come in.

Pick whatever colour or pattern YOU like if you want to get one. What's important is BREEDING. Only buy from a registered breeder who breeds to the standard and only sells PKD- kittens.

Just be aware that Persians require a LOT of grooming. Their long silky coats should NEVER be brushed - they need to be combed and this needs to be done at the least every other day ALL YEAR LONG. So many Persians end up dumped at shelters as adults horribly matted. On that note, if you will keep up with the grooming why not adopt one from a shelter? I have a gorgeous Black and White Persian that I adopted 8 years ago this month when he was 2. Was quite the mess when I got him - only HALF the weight he should have been and horribly tear stained with a rough coat. Didn't take that long till he looked like he should!

There is no "best" color Persian - its what is your preference. White cats of any kind are harder to keep white and clean, but that's about all.

I love white Persians!

I personally like smokes, chinchillas and shaded silvers.
