How close to Professional Wrestling is Professional Boxing?
Popular opinion seems to be most (important) fights are fixed, or in some way controversial, i.e surely a close fight without close scores is just as debatable (even though the outcome isn't).
I understand this is partly predicated on a close fight should never be judged massively in favor of one fighter and just to be clear I am talking about when most professional wrestling promotions were insisting it was real.
I see a lot more similarities for example most boxers would agree your success is not directly related to your skill, which is also true of wrestling.
I am not saying the boxers are choreographing their fights.

I think they only stage or fix fights to promote a fighter. Otherwise, after that they're on their own to try to sell and win.

I hope this question is a joke because any one that is not 5 years old should know that pro wrestling is acting and boxing is the 'hurt business' where there are documented deaths every single year directly result from head trauma boxers suffer inside the boxing ring.
Are these deaths fixed?

Wrestling is purely entertainment, with a fair degree of risk of injury and a lot of athleticism. The actors are athletes, and the show is legitimate as much as it is really happening, albeit to a script.
Boxing is real. It is entertaining, and there have been cases of boxers engaging in fight fixing, but rarely. But again, it is real. No one is pulling punches, and unlike UFC, there are a lot of rounds.
If you doubt it, go join a gym. That is a wake-up call for sure.

Similar in that both pro wrestlers and boxers train, get to the ring and GET PAID.

About as close as Ski jumping is to darts.
