Engine Management Light comes on, car wont pick up speed?

Hi, I'm asking this question on behalf of a family member.

She has a Vauxhall Zafira 2.0L Diesel.

The problem is that when the car is sitting at idle or sometimes on the move, the engine management light will come on. When doing this, the car will continue to rev as normal but it will hold back and not pick up speed, then the light will go off after a few seconds and the speed will pick back up and it will drive like normal. The fuel filter was changed, and also the glow plugs, but no change there. Fuel treatment has also been put through, along with injector cleaner. I've heard something about that it could be the 02 sensor, but not sure. Any suggestions? Thanks.

You going to have to read what the codes are detected by the ECU. All we can do is guess, could be a MAF sensor, could be car has gone into limp mode, blah blah blah... We can't tell without an engine code.

Have a scan run for fault codes. Sensor can play up but normally stay faulty on O2 .

Maf sensor more likely. Have a garage check it out for you.

Ur car is most likely in limp mode it will only give u one gear usually 2nd, it does this just so ur able to get it to the dealer to fix what ever fault the vehicle may have before u cause and farther damage
