    It comes from the saying "a big fish in a little pond" meaning someone who was special in a small town with not a lot of competition. When you take the big fish out of the pond and put him in the ocean he is just a little guppy.

    I have you heard the expression big fish in a small pond

    so like it means the person was a big big shot or popular what in the the place they were in a like a big fish in a small

    pond

    but Hollywood is like a big pound and they are not sp i,p[important like a small fish in a big pond
