My laptop is trying unasked to install programs?

Still running on WinXP (yes, I know!); my laptop keeps on tryng to install Roxio Update Manager (I ignore this) and Dragon naturallySpeaking 10 (which I have). It asks for a CD but won't recognise the source CD when I load it, and (worse) refuses to load NaturallySpeaking from my desktop icon, on the grounds that an installation is already taking place. I keep on cancelling; it keeps on coming back.

How should I proceed? I have a new laptop with Win8, but am too busy right now to transfer my files to it.

By the way, your copy of Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 10 will not work with Windows 8.

The current version is 12.51, and I think you should get the update.

I'm using it now, and if you have not been using it for a while, it works extremely well and accurate, too.

maybe its a virus, run a good complete virus scan on it since with the heart bleed bug there is some problems, this may be worse for you if u used internet explorer with xp since that is a bit outdated and there have been security warnings released to NOT use inter explorer because of the bug, and with the outdated security system on the XP its most certainly its a virus
