what's the difference between a Kimono an a Yukata?

Like I really have no idea. I thought it was a gender thing but it's not. Is it an outdoor/indoor thing or what material it's made out of?

    ^ Like what Mircea said - Yukata is for casual clothing and Kimono are for like events / special occasions such as weddings etc.
