Why do I keep seeing commercials to donate to wounded veterans?

Don t get me wrong it s a good cause but um why isn t the government already taking care of these people? If a soldier gets a serious injury during their line of duty how come the government has not paid for their rehabilitation?

If you get injured while working at Wal Mart you could walk away with a lot of money, especially if you lose a limb. If you lose a limb working a forklift or anything, you could get a million in a settlement. Sad thing is you can't "sue" the government. So if you work for the government and lose a limb while on duty you only get your medical benefits which won't be enough to pay for your rehab and everything else. So these non profit places are formed to ask people to donate to help them recover. The government has great benefits, education, etc, until you lose a limb or become paralyzed...

The government has limited funds, i.e. Tax money to distribute to causes. With BILLIONS in foreign aid going to countries that hate us and that we don't even have diplomatic relations with, we send money that could be better used at home and for our own people rather than supporting every poor, weak azz country while our citizens need so much. As for why you're seeing the vets ads, the dog ads, the poor, starving kids in 3rd world countries lately, it's simple. The donations are tax deductible and at this time of year, people are looking for a hedge to save their earnings.

We give too much to foreign countries and don't fund our own enough. It is especially shameful not to take care of our veterans better. They are all that stands between you and what they went to face.
