In the USA, is it legal to have just one name for your name?
I want to change my name, but it's only one name, no middle, no last. Is this legal in the USA? Or is it mandatory to have a first, middle, last? Thanks.

You do have to have a first and last name, but not really a middle name.
Your legal name can be pretty much anything you want to change it to, even if it's just one letter.
For example: My brother's middle name is just the letter "E".
Mister T, legally changed his name to: Mr. T a long time ago.
As he said on TV one time: "My first name, Mr. Middle name period. Last name T!"

First and last are mandatory but you can get a legal DBA which allows you to sign your name to documents with just " Cher" or "Roseanne"

We are entitled to have our parents last name.
As far as I know.
