What if Kyle Busch wins 6 races but doesn't make it to the top 30?
He's won 4 already, thats the same amount as Jimmie, who is 1st on the chase grid. If he wins 6, that would be more than Jimmie has won, So to win more than the best seed and not be in the chase is kinda stupid, They'd HAVE to let him in

You point out a big flaw in the system and that is how Kyle could miss the chase. Even if he got 2 more win, but got 3 DNF's, he could again fall out of the top 30 in points. Or worse crash and re-injured himself and miss a race weekend. We only have 6 races till the chase.
Current Rules about making the chase:
Must attempt to start every NASCAR race. A waver can be given by NASCAR.
Must be in the top 30 in points
Wins get you in the Chase. More wins means higher seating
No wins, you may get in the chase if you're in the top 16 of points & if there are less than 16 race winners
If there is more than 16 race winners tie breaker is points
The rules are solid, NASCAR has given wavers to drivers that missed a race due to medical or reasons beyond the drivers control. If I was NASCAR I would adjust the rule to top 35 in points. A few years ago we had the rule of the top 35 in points were locked in each weekend, we no longer have that rule.

If he won 6 that should be enough to get him in under the circumstances he has to get in on. He is 23 points out as of now. Only way I see him not making it with 6 wins is if he has a couple of bad runs & then wins the last 2 before Richmond & that doesn't end up being enough.
& no, if he simply didn't make it to the top 30 then he shouldn't be in regardless if he has more wins or not.
