Can a 3d printer tattoo anything you want? Including portraits realism.?

I saw some video of 3d printers tattooing mostly fake silicon hands and one woman got a cross tattooed by the robotic like designer. French art students invented the first try. If you program it right can it tattoo you I may get a portrait and was wondering if it is an option?

You are aware that they modified the printer, mostly by adding an actual tattoo needle, right?

You can't print tattoos with an off-the-shelf 3D printer, obviously.

But sure, if you program it right, why not? We do already have complex automatons.

It can print a lot of the parts for a 3D printer. However there are currently some components that can't be printed at the moment - eg. circuit board, electronic components, motors.

It might "tattoo anything you want", provided you have any necessary license for copyrighted art. Otherwise it would be a felony (USA) to be paid to make an unauthorized "willful infringement of copyright for profit". 18 USC § 2319. It would also be illegal to display the copyright infringement in public.
