Nikon D7100 squeaks when turning camera on/off and cleaning sensor?
I've had this camera for about a year. I used it for a hours yesterday and for a few hours today, and it suddenly started squeaking when turning it on/off, or when running the "clean image sensor" feature. It seems to function completely normally. Has anyone experienced this problem with the Nikon D7100? I am wondering if it needs to be serviced?
I should mention that I have never fully cleaned the sensor. I have never cleaned a DSLR sensor myself and kept putting off taking it in to a shop.
I appreciate those who have responded about the senor cleaning, but that is not what I am asking about. I am wondering whether anyone knows if I should be concerned about the sudden squealing noise that is happening when turning the camera on or off. I only mentioned the sensor because it also makes the noise when the camera's sensor cleaning function is running.

Cleaning the sensor is really no big deal. People on various forums often make it sound like it's so easy to damage the sensor. When in reality, the sensor is often covered by a piece of glass.
I use the Visible Dust products - They work well, but are extremely over priced. You should clean the sensor at least once a year even if you don't see any dust on your shots. This is because as the plastic off gasses (especially if the camera should be in very hot environment like a car) the oils that are produced will coat the surface of the sensor. These oils from the off gassing of the plastic is the same reason why it's common for the inside of windshields to get dirty with a film of oil.

WoW! You're always cleaning your sensor? Must be squeaky clean!
I have in my care 10 dSLRs and not once have I attempted to clean any sensor.
