Was I going to be eaten?

Story goes like this,

I was hiking in the nearby mountains when I was a child. THe mountain was generally quite bare, but had some dense bushes. At one point the dense bushes began to move as if something was crawling up to me. I was always curious of that encounter, whether it was something like a playful fox or a wolf that wanted me for dinner. (I know we cannot know for sure, but just various speculations are interesting to hear. Please no rude answers. Thnx)

I live in the mountains. It was likely a very small animal, like a fox, which are very curious. They come up to me all the time. Few animals would actually eat you. A cougar might, and bears very rarely attack people, but, eating us is even rarer. Wolves don't attack people at all. Moose can be dangerous, but, usually they just look at you. And, moose are really big!

It was Slenderman. He couldn't have eaten you because he doesn't have a mouth.

It was probably a rabbit or a squirrel.

They tend not to eat people.
