Toilet flushing issues overflowing please help?

So here's the problem, my toilet keeps overflowing when I flush it and then stops, only to then slowly drain, but not flush anything away. The toilet paper has sat in there for about two days, and has become almost sludge. How do I fix this??? I'm really disparate please give me any advice.

Something stuck in there, plunge it. If you don't have a plunger you can pour a bucket of water in from a few feet above the bowl.

You need to obtain and use a plumbers helper. To do it properly use short quick strokes to force the blockage through the "S" bend in the stool.

    Buy a plunger
