Why wont my new betta swim around?

I just bought a male betta today and it's just lying on the bottom of the tank. It's been awhile since I've had a betta so I'm not sure if that's true

    1. The fish has just been through a lot, and he's getting used to his surroundings. Give it time.

    2. Is the tempurature around 80? I know pet stores say it's ok to keep bettas in room tempurature, but lower tempuratures can cause lethargic news, inactivity, and disease, and death. If you don't have a heater, please get one.

    3. Could be due to high levels of ammonia, nitrite, or nitrate. Please read about the nitrogen cycle in an aquarium. Make your fish happy!

I'm positive it's because he's had a big day, I'm sure he will perk up soon, if he doesn't in the next week however, he might be sick.

They don't continually swim like other fish.

  • It could be the ph of the water or the temp of the water. Idk much about fish but I'm pretty sure the ph is very important.
