Recital time video?
I would like your opinions on how we as a class and how I did individually? Yes I know there were a few mistakes made by the other dancers and some of them were dancing for the first time or first time in years, so go easy on them. I am the third on stage and I know I hit everything and it felt great. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QT_BQA3vTnI

Lizardmomma, I'm glad you put that up. You know we've been following your progress for some time now and it's always good to see how you are doing. Clearly you are capable of much more intricate choreography, but of course the new students aren't. You clearly knew the choreography well and stayed with the music, and you were generous enough not to upstage any of the others, which you could have done quite easily if you were of a mind to. Generosity always looks very good on a dancer.
@Lorraine-- the few answers you have provided in this category have generally been solid, but this time you missed something very important. These are not students in a preprofessional school with dreams of becoming "ballerinas", or even in a syllabus-driven graded school like RAD. This is a recreational school where students come for an hour after school or work once or twice a week for their own enjoyment. This was not a performance in a fancy theater with high-priced tickets. It was a little performance given for the parents, families and friends of the students, making no claims of perfection, and should be judged accordingly.

To be completely honest.... It was a standard mediocre dance recital performance😯 but the girl in the middle was pretty good! It looked like she actually wanted to be thee and not shrink back into a shell.

Hi. Thanks for answering my question! :) Was this a jazz dance routine? I think it was pretty simple. I think the coreography could have been a tad bit more advanced, in that there could have been a couple pirouettes of leaps added :) I think that would have spiced up the routine

You are probably not going to like what I am going to say but it is what I tell my students so I'll say it.
Dance is a 'Performing Art', however, we dance because we LOVE to dance not because we love to perform and the performing is a byproduct of that love of dancing.
However it is my opinion that to perform you have to be good enough to be interesting to watch and not everyone achieves that. I have students who are technically nice to watch but with a wooden performance or others who can perform but whose technique isn't strong enough to go into small groups and for school shows they would be used in larger groups with stronger dancers and indeed that is what I would have tried to do with your group. I'm afraid I don't feel they are strong enough for a group of their own.
