Solo time?

Hi all,

I wanted to get your opinion on solos. Not for this year, but next year will be my 10th year dancing and I will also be turning 40. I think that the time is right to ask about doing a solo. I would like to do a jazz solo as it's my strongest style. What do you think about adults doing solos at a recital? I know it's not something you would normally see. I was planning on asking my teachers soon what their opinion is of course, but I wanted to get your opinions too. I can post links to group dances I have done if you want to see me dance. Thank you in advanced for taking the time to read and answer the question. :)

Update:

Mint: Believe it or not, our school has a very small enrollment. (Under 100 students total) So I think if the parents asked can X do a solo, duo, trio, etc I doubt she wouldn't turn them down. Also like many other schools I do believe that I would paying to get the solo, so it might be a matter of affordability more than availability for those students who can't do one. Of course I was planning on talking with the owner first.

Update 2:

I'm not sure how I would go about doing a performance at a senior center or the like. I know there is a student company but I don't know where they perform, etc.

Its hard to say but there is a chance that parents of kids who didn't get a solo may resent you doing one. Or the kids who didn't may resent it. Your school would know if this would be a problem or not.

An alternative might be a performance at a local senior center or something like that which might include a solo for you. But... it may be fine to do a solo at the regular recital. I would guess the school owner would know best if this is a feasible option.

Are asking about if it is time to buy the Arizer Solo cannabis vaporizer? It is a very nice vape for sure, but I would recommend buying the Arizer Solo myself. I have both but I like the Arizer Air much better as you can switch out the batteries in the Arizer Air so you can use it all day long if you want to.
