Why are there so many shows about criminals?

It seems that are many more in the last couple years, Animal Kingdom, Good Behavior, Sons of Anarchy and , Orange is the New Black. They are glorifying being a criminal by making them look like "real" people, they are CRIMINALS, why is this??

Criminality is exciting to a lot of people, and it always has been.

Billy the Kid and Jesse James were murderers but have always been popular in our culture.

"Birth of a Nation," a movie that glorified the terrorist KKK, has been popular since it was released in 1915.

"Bonnie and Clyde" was a very popular movie back in the 1960s, and people sympathized when they died. The real Bonnie and Clyde were equally popular in the 1930s, as were many bank robbers and crime leaders such as Al Capone, "Pretty Boy" Floyd, John Dillinger, and "Machine Gun" Kelly.

Even in music, "The Ballad of Tom Dooley" and "Hey, Joe," both about men who murdered women, have long been popular songs.

There may be more shows about criminals, but usually they are based in some kind of institution, which is a good thing because it may make some potential criminals think twice before committing a crime. And don't forget how many hundreds of police shows they show on TV, whether they be dramatisations or real life situations.

Some of the greatest people on history participated in criminal activity.

    Martin Luther King Jr

    - Fredrick Douglas

    - Harriet Turman

    - Malcom X

    - Nelson Mandela

    - Rosa Parks

    - Susan Brownell Anthony

As far as shows, it's just entertaining watching someone do something you cant.

TV producers have no morals and will do and say anything to get ratings.

Most of the crime story's are utter crap anyway and in most cases the actual events didn't happen as the tv show glamorise the criminals and make them look alot better people than the pos they really are.
