Victory motorcycles is shutting down any thoughts people?

As a Victory owner for 14 years, it's only a bit of a shock, especially when Victory had already announced they were dramatically cutting the range of bikes, that they would be selling in Europe.

Polaris can only really afford to keep one brand going and Indian is selling big, just as it should. Sadly Victory never had huge sales, despite making a great bike and being a great brand. It will be interesting to see what Polaris does with the engineering from Project 156 and the Empulse.

Victory motorcycles have engines made by Polaris. Polaris builds crappy engines for snowmobiles, and I suspect that they don't do much better at building motorcycle engines either.

Some of the models are cool and exotic looking, however, they tend to be a bit on the bulky and bulbous side of things regarding size.

A friend of mine purchased a 2015 model and complained about the bike being "loose" feeling when riding, and he didn't care for the way the engine timing was set up from the factory.

In my area Victory never really got a huge following, but Indian got a large following fairly fast. I just hope Indian doesn't go to sh*t like Polaris has in recent years. Polaris has a huge market in my area, I have a couple of my own, but I know a fair number of people that have blown up brand new sleds and ATVs in under a thousand miles.

When they restarted the Indian line most of the sales came from buyers that would have purchased a Victory and not a Harley or or other maker. They fed on themselves.

I think it just shows how hard it is to manufacture something like that in the US. I'm surprised they did as well as they did. But Polaris, who makes the Victory, also make the Indian, and perhaps they didn't see the point in competing with themselves.
