Saw the fight. It was a fkn domination in favor of Canelo. JCCJr. was too busy covering up he forgot to punch. He looked like a class C fighter in this match.

Statistically speaking, it seems Canelo has the edge but we all know how that can be fudged by cherry-pickers; it's not new to the sport. Chavex Jr is taller but we all know how taller opponents have been upset many times in the ring. It's going to come down to guts and who can impose himself on the other. Either one can win by KO or by points if it goes the distance. I honestly don't know who will emerge the winner or how. I'll wait and see. I just hope there's no controversial nonsense (from ref or judges, or fouls)

EDITED: What a snoozer! Canelo had a moving punching bag... or was JDD Jr acting as his sparring partner? I couldn't believe the lackluster performance (IF that's what it was) of JCC Jr. He should've sent in his granddaddy to fight for him. This is the kind of BS that gives the sport of boxing a bad rep (along with the crooked refs and crooked judges).

Canelo Alvarez, he's more durable, poised and balanced. I recently watched HBO's Canelo/Chavez Jr. program and the biggest thing I saw was the eyes. When Chavez talks his mouth says one thing but his eyes say something totally different(or indifference), no fire! On the other hand Canelo is focused, his words and eyes do not betray him and there is fire. I have fought many boxing, Tae Kwon Do and Kickboxing matches in my day and the eyes do not deceive, now Chavez may enter the ring with a different fire or maybe he was stoned again, I don't know but it was worrisome. Weigh-in both looked good and Chavez came in on target, same 164 weight as Canelo, plus for Chavez minus for Canelo on both counts. Canelo was probably fully hydrated or close and Chavez will probably rehydrate to +/- 175. Canelo has speed, power and defense going for him, even though Chavez has a 4" height advantage it only works out to have a 2 1/2" reach advantage. If Chavez stays out side and over reaches too much and leans in Canelo will have an excellent opportunity for his uppercut(s). In-between and on the inside Canelo has many more punches available and he gets max leverage(best active today) on his punches. Canelo stays on balance and has great footwork, Chavez gets off balance and can be quickly countered, his footwork is fair. Both have good chins, but a tired chin, off balanced and open will give Canelo more opportunities in later rounds. As I write this I think it should be a blow out in theory but theory has never thrown or been hit by a punch so that's why we watch. Canelo by TKO/KO between rounds 8-10 or a Unanimous Decision.
