The scripture you quoted is one that many people need to understand.
Godly Love, or in Greek Agape Love is the most important love there is.
It is extended to us, and we extend it to others, even ones we may not necessarilly like as a friend.
If people understood Agape Love, there would be less problems in the world and we could truly live in peace and harmony on earth. That is what everyone says they want but many do not work towards that in a meaninful. way.
Love enables us to cover over a person's sins, and forgive, just as we want our Heavenly Father to forgive us, we forgive others. Mt. 6:9-14
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life nor angels nor governments nor things now here nor things to come nor powers nor height nor depth nor any other creation will be able to separate us from God’s love that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Ro 8:38, 39

1 Corinthians 13:4-8
