Hey Rock & Pop! What's your latest musical obsession?

Mine's not rock or pop and yours doesn't have to be either.

I've been listening to the two (out-of-print) albums of hers that I own quite a lot the past couple of days. This newer song's not on either of them, but it's also good stuff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11N99ZS7Y0k

The Kinks, the Who and ACDC. It's quite a combination.

Hey Liv, I've been exploring black metal lately. When you adjust to the Ringwraith screams and the sub-par production on some of the older bands' work, you find some top notch riffs.

I recently saw "End of the Century", so I've also been on a bit of a Ramones kick. I love this clip of them early on at CBGB, where they get into an argument one song in.

Hi Liv! I've said it before - you've got to get to New Orleans one day. And is it my imagination or does that first song remind you a bit of Cab Calloway's 'Minnie the Moocher'? Seems to be pretty similar.

As for me, I've been listening to a lot of Peter Green the last few days.

    Aloha Liv!

Lately, it's been Opeth. I've increased my tolerance level for the death metal growl vocals, and once you get past that it's some of the best heavy music I've ever heard. Been getting into the older stuff that I had never heard before because of my aversion to the vocals.

"Demon of the Fall" from the album My Arms, Your Hearse:

"Epilogue" from the album My Arms, Your Hearse (instrumental, no death metal growled vocals)

    Hi Liv!

It's been quite a while since I fell down a hole with an artist. I've been digging around, but no one is taking the power and no one has in at least a few years. I've just bounced around. I suppose the closest thing recently is a re-discovery of Elastica. I had honestly forgotten how much I liked their two records. Great, great, underappreciated since they went away band.
