Problems with Windows partition on my Mac?

I created a Windows 10 Pro parition on my Macbook Pro. I had some trouble getting Windows to boot cleanly. I reformatted the partition and reloaded windows. It was still not working properly so I used the recovery disk that I had created to try and restore it. Right at the end of the procedure an error message appeared saying that recovery had failed and no changes were made. I then switched off, and rebooted, hitting the option key. Now, the ONLY partition I can see is the Windows one and when I try to boot from it, an error message says that there is no OS!! How do I get back to the Mac OS??

Restart and hold down the option key, this should then give you the choice of booting off the Mac OS. Log in go to system preferences and choose MacOS as default. If the only choice is the windows partition then you may need to reinstall Mac OS

manually start up from macOS Recovery over the Internet, hold down Option-Command-R or Shift-Option-Command-R at startup and follow the prompts- you need an internet connection

it sounds like you toasted your bootcamp. not being a mac os man, i suggest you read the discussion below which may help. but it sounds like you need to re-install the macos. in future i suggest you think about VirtualBox, where you have a computer with its original OS that doesnt get altered, you install VirtualBox, and it uses a bit of the disk space to put whatever other OS's you like. you can then start the original OS, and then start VirtualBox to boot any of the other OS's virtually so you are not messing with boot sectors of your actual disk. its a far more controlled use of windows from inside of the mac os and NOT instead of the mac os. the link below might help get you back to a paoint where you can install mac os again, but dont take my word for it. good luck.
