Is there a vegetable that has a nutrient/benefit that a fruit can't provide?

Some vitamins like K and D. Probably a number of other trace elements required for good health.

In general, fruits have less protein than vegetables.
Compare these two links. One is high protein veggies, the other high protein fruit.
And there's the sugar issue......

Fruits tend to be higher in sugar and calories. Most vegetables are not, [notable exception-sweetcorn]. However, fruit is still a part of a balanced, healthy diet, the sugar is low GI [slow release] and unlike, for instance, candies, fruit does not cause sugar highs and lows which lead to cravings for more sugar. This is because it is combined with dietary fibre which slows its release into the bloodstream.

Vegetables are healthier for you as all fruits contain sugar, we all need to cut down on our sugar consumption.
