How to get around in Venice and are market prices high?

I am going to Venice on sunday and i will arrive at Treviso airport and my hotel i quite far (Via Orlanda str). And my workshop is even further and only connected by long a bridge. Is there any way to pay a 1 week ticket or smth for all public transport, train and water bus. Everythong else hotel breakfast and flight are all covered by a scholarship.

Thank you in advance!

Not at all except if you drink coffee in front of St Marco chapel, or go to shopping in Versace boutique or something same - you can find good prices for tourists in Venice

Firstly you need to find out exactly where your hotel is located, because Via Orlando str is not in Venice but on the mainland! Treviso Airport is around 35 kms from Mestre and you should be able to get a bus from the airport. From the mainland you can get a train from Mestre Statiin across the bridge to Venice Santa Lucia station.

There is a bus that goes from Mestre to Venice. It drops you at the train station. As I recall it's maybe 20 minutes or less. They run frequently. There are no motor vehicles in Venice, not even police. The Vaporetti (singular vaporetto) run up and down the canals just like buses. I don't know about weekly passes but there are certainly day passes. They have stops, just like buses. There are also water taxis, which are quite expensive. Here and there is a guy with a boat who takes people across a canal for cheap. Otherwise, you walk.

5 of us had a drink in a place on the square and it was 100 euro. Everything about Venice is expensive and the food isn't so great either. Not great in Italian terms.

You are so lucky. Venezia is one of my most favorite cities (along with Paris and Buenos Aires). Unfortunately it's been decades since I was last there. But I've done some research...you can too.

As you've not said where on Via Orlanda you are staying, I can't be precise, but in general you can get to San Marco Square by a combination of walking, bus, and boat. Which will take about an hour from Via Orlanda (which is the uncertain part). And there are "passes" that you can get. Go to http://www.veneziaunica.it/ to read about them.

If you know how to use Google Maps I suggest you use it. In the public transportation mode (the bus icon) you'll get all kinds of help on both bus and boat times and tickets. In essence the buses take you across the long bridge from the mainland to Venice proper. Then you take a boat (if you wish). And they all have passes of various kinds, which is why you should do your own research to pick out what suits you best.

You are very lucky. Have fun.
