Yamaha motorcycle shifter contros rod nut size?

I would like to know what size wrench typically you use for the shifter nut on the shifter control rod. I am trying to get my off the area is slightly damaged and I dont want to buy a whole kit if I dont have to ..

I need the wrench size for the shifter nut please

    MY bike uses a 10mm open-end wrench for that, but that doesn't mean that yours is the same.

    I am thinking they are all standard.. the reason I was asking was because some of my tools were stolen so I could not find all the sizes

    I always use a wrench that fits, with a preference for box end, or a socket. If you're in the third world, use vise-grips.
