there was an incident many years ago that resulted in a death and it curtailed activity for some time but it was probably 2 decades ago. the cruise ships and military come here all the time, as do the wounded warriors and other groups. we always advise individuals to be just as careful about their surroundings, but there is no reason to not visit the u.s. virgin islands based on that which happened so very long ago.

There isn't any more violence in the USVI than your average American city and in most cases much less.

Why would the Navy go there?? Are there any facilities that could handle large Naval ships?? But yes, crime is a problem in these territories.

Maybe? But you can go there if you are a civilian. If there is violence, maybe it's against or by just sailors. Just don't know. I do know that during a natural disaster a few years ago, members of the USVI ARMY NATIONAL GUARD were involved in looting, so maybe it's best to stay away.
