Why has East Asian countries never been colonised?

    Hong Kong , India , Vietnam, Macau, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Saipan, Hawaii,

    China, Korea, Japan were not because they had a strong central government and stable organized society

    Depends what you mean by "colonised". At one time or another most parts of the world have been invaded and occupied by "other people". And that includes China and Vietnam and Japan and all those others in that area. Note also that the borders of Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and other countries in that area are very recent, and that most of them are results of European colonisation rather than borders which take note of ethnic differences on the found. Indonesia has been independent only since 1948, before that it was Dutch East Indies. Etc, etc.

    If you look ay a map of the world of the mid 1800s you will see alterations in most countries of the world.

    I wouldn't say that. Japan owned Korea, Manchuria, and parts of China. The French owned Southeast Asia. Several other European countries occupied and had colonies in China.
