Problem flying with a samourai sword?

In 1999, I flew from UK to Portugal with a samourai sword (value: $15,000! - and I have the skills to use it).

It was taken (with as mile) to the flight deck, and returned to me in Faro airport.

As a pilot, I often flew with TAP, in the jump seat.

Since 9-11, things have changed...

Now... How can I air travel to, say, China, Japan, or even UK, with that weapon?

Check it into the hold. It isn't even an issue.

FYI you need to learn to spell Samurai. "and I have the skills to use it" Yeah right.

You're just a fantacist. "as a pilot" more fantasy.

If it is a real Japanese katana, do NOT take it to Japan. They will seize it and you will have to prove it is a modern reconstruction and you bought it outside of Japan. If it is a real classic from WW II or older you will not be getting it back.

Sorry, but I'm afraid you are a fraud, even in 1999 it would not have been acceptable, today you are 100% restricted to carrying such items only in checked luggage, and only in accordance with the airlines rules.

    YOU CANT

If you were a pilot, you should know you cannot take a samurai sword on a plane. HELL, YOU CANT EVEN SPELL THE WORD. I think you are a liar. I have seen quite a few of your questions, and it seems that you lie about a lot of things.

IF you were telling the truth, I t would have to be put in the baggage dept, with all of the other luggage. You don't get any special treatment. You cannot even take a bottle of shampoo on a plane, and you think they will let you take a sword on the flight? You are delusional. And who cares how much it costs, you're probably lying about that too.

It is taken to the check-in and declared as a weapon, put in luggage - but if you were in the jump seat I would think you would know that.

Hi , it's been awhile. Anyway, the only method now is via checked baggage or insured and tracked air freight. You'd be wise to use a secure, high quality travel case and have it heavily insured, whether as baggage or freight.

One way only: as checked hold baggage.

I would have thought that answer was glaringly obvious to anyone claiming to have been an airline pilot!
