Are my standards too high?

I’ve had trouble looking for new girls after a previous breakup because of my ever increasing standards. I’ve heard people say “lower you standards” but I’ve also heard people say “not to settle”. So what’s the deal? Is there a median here?

Never settle or lower standards. People always told me that. I judged guys within three seconds. But you know what? I found my PERFECT other half. As in if we were to break up I'd meet tons of nice guys but no one unique like him.

It is worth the wait. My friends who said to date anyone and lower my standards always complain about their relationships and never stay single for long. They always jump from boy to boy, girl to girl. There is nothing wrong with being on your own for a while. I am so happy I waited. I met some nice guys that I thought okay I guess I can be with them but the moment I met my boyfriend I realized there is no way I could ever settle.

He has his flaws for sure but it's nothing I think about changing. I accept them. If you plan on changing someone then don't date them. Because people don't change - they grow but on their own.

Take what you can get. Eventually you will find the one for you. Your idea of "standards" is actually fantasy. Date real women with real faults. Just like YOUR faults.

Nah. Just about every female has higher standards for you. They’re standards are so unrealistic it’s pathetic
