Why are there so many junkies in Scotland?

Especially around Glasgow and parts of Edinburgh. Even in the upper class areas there’s always one lurking around begging for money.

Scotland is the drug capital of Europe, over a thousand deaths related to drugs this year alone, and only now are the government have actually done something about it by opening g a safe environment and are giving out diamorphine to injecting addicts,Sweden and Portugal have been doing this for years and the crime rate dropped 95% overnight so it's got to be a good thing, answer to your question is poverty, and people use illicit drugs to escape from this
