What is a diode? What is the purpose of a diode? What is the difference between a diode and SCR?

    Diode is a PN construction semi-conductor parts whereas a SCR is in a PNPN construction parts.

    Diode can be used to demodulate RF signal back into DC signal, or rectify AC power into DC power.
