Which car should I buy for my first car?

I'm thinking of getting a used version. But these are the cars I'm thinking of testing out:

1) Fiat 2) Nissan Leaf SL 3) Ford Fiesta

I don't want to go over $9,000 for a used car. And the Nissan Leaf would probably be my best option even though I really want a Fiat, but I can't find one yet in my price range. And I need a car pretty soon before January... anyway. Would buying a used car that has 19,000 miles on it for $7,000 be a good deal? This would be for a Nissan Leaf. A used Ford Fiest would cost me at least $14k (USED)... which is what I'm kind of nervous about. I've never bought a car before... but it only has 9,000 miles on it.

Are Nissans good cars? I've only ever had experience with Ford's because my family has a Ford car. And I do like how they drive etc...not a Ford Fiesta though (Explorer).

For a first car what should I look into buying more? Thanks in advance.

Update:

But I really want to try and find a Ford Fiesta under $9k because I don't want a fully electric car yet... plus I'm going to have to commute pretty far to work too.

All three are bad choices. Fiat consistently ranks near the bottom or at the bottom in terms of reliability. Electric cars have limited range and charging stations are few. The automatic transmissions in Ford Fiestas are garbage.

Nissans in general are not as good as Hondas and Toyotas. The CVT (continuously variable transmission) they put in most models are known to fail before 100,000 miles.

A good first car is a Toyota Corolla. If you must have a hatchback, look for a well-maintained Toyota Matrix.

I would get a Toyota Corolla or a Mazda 3 with a manual transmission!

There are MUCH better choices than a Fiat or Ford Fiesta. Do some research online and find out about which cars are best and are most reliable. Consumer Reports magazine and web site are one of the best places. Go to a local library and read the latest (April 2019) issue of Consumer reports magazine, which is their annual Auto Issue.

Fiat is crap.Leaf is not much better. Fiesta is a subcompact and not great.

Honda Civic. Mazda 3. If you must have a subcompact, Honda Fit.

Almost no used car with 19,000 miles is $7000. You're dreaming. With $9000 to spend you will have a very hard time staying below 80,000 miles. Unless its a Fiesta. Honda Fit blows it away. But it costs more.

The cheapest automatic Fiesta nationwide at carmax is $7998 and it has 102,000 miles. I see one with 78,000 miles for $8998. (before $299 processing fee and sales tax is extra too)
