What's the best inexpensive tablet for my 90 year old father to read the morning newspaper?

His morning paper has cut down to a print edition 3 days a week and will eventually eliminate the print edition entirely. He doesn't want to sit at his desktop to read it. He wants to read while he's eating breakfast. Thanks!

    slate is pretty cheap I think.

    Granite or marble should do. 

    Sandstone might be too fragile.

    Something really big so he can see it. However, if he is used to actual paper, he might not like a tablet. I would let him try one first to see if he does.
