How bad is two sodas a day?

I’ve gotten maybe a little too addicted to soda lately. I don’t gain weight easily (I’m underweight) and I have good dental health... so I didn’t worry about all the sugar. But are there other reasons I should worry? I think I have about two bottles a day. Can that do any serious damage in the long run? What’s a reasonable amount of soda?

Yes, I get doctors could answer this better, but I’m just looking to see if average people would be concerned by this amount.

You get a sugar high followed by a sugar crash which is a bit of a problem in terms of energy. Other than that it's not that harmful directly. The main problem is that those 400+ empty calories are taking the place of other more nutritious food. That makes it difficult to get enough of all your other nutrients.

Here is a list of some of the most nutritious foods: Almonds, bitter melon, brewer's yeast, broccoli, cilantro, endive, escarole, garbanzo beans / hummus, kelp, oysters, parsley, pumpkin seeds, rice bran, sesame seeds / tahini, spinach, spirulina, sunchokes, sunflower seeds, watercress, wheat germ, white, brown or portabello mushrooms

You can confirm by Googling the USDA nutrient database. You'll see even with large amounts of food from that list, large amounts of the most nutritious foods, it's difficult to get enough of all your nutrients. The rest of your diet better be packed with good stuff to catch up and get all your needs. These nutrients are components of every process in the body. If you have less than the full amount of any one of them, your body processes will slow down. Energy, immune system, hormones, growth & repair, development, muscle, etc., etc. Extra has no additional benefit, but like I said you'll see from the data it's hard just to get enough. And no, a multivitamin doesn't contain most of them. They all won't fit in a pill, not even close. And there are many besides the well known ones listed in the nutrient database. Those are in real food, while the pills only contain a portion of the well known nutrients.

Now if you're downing spinach by the pound, eating scoops of rice bran, etc., then go ahead and have your soda. Otherwise you're playing a difficult game of catch up. For now you have immediate slow downs of body functions that aren't obvious because you're used to them, plus it will only get worse over time.

Every soda that you drink contains a little more than an ounce of sugar. I had ridiculously high triglycerides and cholesterol I cut out soda and sugary drinks and because I did that I've been able to take far less medication

Most doctors are oblivious to nutrition because they barely study it in medical school. Any amount of sugar is not reasonable. It's dangerous for our health and contributes to heart disease and diabetes 2. It's just not good for us

You can go to YouTube and look for The Dangers of Sugar video

What size bottles? Two liter, you have a problem. 20 ounce, no problem.
