It's almost as sad as the Manx imbecile who claims to be the Queen's nephew.

Some Putz , born in Brooklyn can call himself whatever the hell he likes.......but there is only ONE remaining recognized LEGITIMATE heir to the House of Savoy, and that is Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy.......the only Grandson, of the last King of Italy.
Italy's constitution outlawed the Monarchy......but in general elections, there is STILL , to this day, a small fringe Group, called the Monarchy Party, whose sole goal is to restore the Monarchy.
and with the sheer chaos going on lately.............there are many who are starting to think they should vote for the return of the Monarchy next time.
If so......Prince Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy, would take his rightful place as KING.
there are some who seriously support this idea.

Do some research on the unification of Italy and you will know exactly why there are so many Italians who can claim to be royalty.

The title of "prince" is borne by many European families and as a title of high nobility, not necessarily by scions of royal families. Both the Polish and the Italian nobility are top-heavy in proportion to their populations, as greater than 51% of each population is considered "nobility". As compared to England where only the head of a family uses the title--such as "Baron" or "Earl" and so on--every single member of a continental noble family shares in the family's noble title. When a Prince di Malatesta, for example, has seven sons, all seven sons are considered princes.

There are none because the Italian royal family died out a long time ago and they are all dead by now

Yeah I know I'm an Italian /Australian and on my mother side there was some type of royalty, best answer I got. Italy wasn't united and was once full of city states, most had their own royals.
