A person can know many truths by reciting the rosary every day with care.

A bishop is a Bible word for pastor.
.
Avoid catholicism and orthodox, since catholicism and orthodox teach works for salvation, which leads to hell (Galatians 1:6-9)
Nobody can be good enough to avoid hell. The truth is that death leads to immediate heaven or hell, depending only on whether the person believed in Jesus for eternal life, or not.
.
The truth is that Jesus loves you and wants to bless your life freely :) Most of all, Jesus wants you with Him forever, and not in hell. The truth is that every belief except one will lead to eternal torment in the lake of fire for every person. Because nothing pays for our sins except the death and blood of Jesus, the sacrifice of Jesus that is already accomplished by Him . Jesus loves you! The truth is that Jesus is God, and Jesus died on the cross to pay for all of our sins in full, and then Jesus resurrected from the dead. Nothing else pays for our sins, not works, not deeds, not religions. So the only way to heaven and to avoid hell, is by believing in Jesus for eternal life (John 6:47), without adding any of your own works (Romans 4:5). Believe in Jesus to take you to heaven, and you will be in heaven, no matter what, guaranteed. That easy, thanks to Jesus! Tell Jesus that you thank Him that you will be with Him in heaven when you die, because you believe in Jesus! It is too late to be saved, after death

One must be ordained BY GOD to be a witness of the POWER that comes upon them after Holy Spirit baptism (Acts 1:5; 8; 22)!

Catholic bishop?? 8 years to be a priest alone, then comes the promotion.
Or Easy way: live in the amazon river area; volunteer to be a catholic leader with indigenous:
so as to prepare yourself when Vatican will allow married local elders to become priest; shortage of priest, ya know... and from there your promotion will come... apply and inquire in the local diocese.

Every denomination (Christian organization) has their own set rules on how to become a bishop. Usually they require a certain amount of education, and time in lower positions, and these are evaluated to determine a person's expertise.
Of course there are some denominations that are very small and some that are independent. In some of these cases a person may appoint himself pastor, then appoint himself bishop.

Firstly it depends on which branch of Christianity you are in. The branches of Christianity that have a Episcopal structure are Orthodox, Catholic, Anglican and certain strands of Lutheranism in European countries like Sweden and Denmark.
In the Roman Catholic Church bishops are selected by the Pope and the Vatican. They first have to be ordained priests. In my tradition, Bishops are selected through a synodical process. I am not as sure how it is done in the Orthodox Churches but I suspect that the Bishops are selected by the leadership of the various national Churches they have(so the Russian Orthodox Patriarch for instance would be the one to select bishops and metropolitans in the Russian Church).

First you have to be a priest, then you are chosen to be a bishop by the Pope when a position opens up.
