Any suggestions for my first time in Sri Lanka?

I’m 30 year old man going to Sri Lanka in April for the whole month by myself. As of right now I don’t have much planned I just know I want to go to Kandy and Galle for sure and also check out the east coast. Im open to any recommendations or advice. Also want to know if it would be worth it to head north or if I would even have enough time for all of that

You should definitely go to Kandy, Sigiriya, Ella, Galle (not more than 1 day), Mirissa, Unawatuna and back to Colombo. One of the best things to do is to take a train ride from Kandy to Ella https://www.thecommonwanderer.com/blog/kandy-to-el...

It is the most scening route to take.

It would be great if you went to see whales, but you need to do that early morning (such trips start from 6 am).
