Why would it?  Jacob and his children were phenotypically no different than the Egyptians, the land where they were from literally being a stone's throw from Egypt.  They all looked like Mediterranean people look.  This isn't a guess.  We know this for sure from a plethora of ancient works of art uncovered by archaeologists depicting both Israelites and Egyptians.

Just because Egypt is on the African continent, that doesn't make its people black.  Black people are from Sub-Saharan Africa, very far away and on the other side of the vast untraversable Sahara Desert.  

It's true that Egypt ruled Sub-Saharan Africa and the Sub-Saharan Africans, or blacks, who lived there, but they weren't allowed anywhere near the seat of power in the north where Pharaoh's lived and where the Israelites were enslaved but were kept out by the Sahara being in untraversable and by the only way to the north being via the Nile, which the white Egyptians in the north controlled, using it to bring resources downriver from Sub-Saharan Africa but any and all blacks out.  

Sub-Saharan Africa was basically an Egyptian colony that the north plundered for resources.  Sub-Saharan Africans weren't allowed in the north because of animosity and a fear that they would rise up and throw off their exploiters and oppressors, not an unreasonable fear since that fear was realized much later in the 9th century BCE when Sub-Saharan Africans successfully fought their way down the Nile and overthrew the 24th Pharaonic dynasty, remaining in power until Alexander the Great ousted them and sent all Sub-Saharan Africans back to Sub-Saharan Africa in the 7th century BCE, Greeks ruling Egypt from that time until the Romans took it in the 1st century BCE. 

Blacks, Sub-Saharan Africans, were Egypt's slaves, but they were enslaved to the power in the north.  They weren't allowed in the north.  That's why the slaves the north used were Israelites, not blacks.  

Anyway, that's why Egyptians, Israelites, Greeks, Italians, and Spanairds, all the Mediterranean peoples, are phenotypically the same.

Now, Israelites (i.e., people who live in Israel today) are somewhat phenotypically lighter than the original Israelites because of the mass migration of Ashkenazi Jews to Israel from Germany after World War II.  Ashkenazi Jews had became more phenotypically like Germanic people over the course of the millennia of intermixing with Germanic people after being expelled from their homeland in the Diaspora.

The Hebrews were a desert tribe, like the Egyptians.  They must have been relatively indistinguishable from Egyptians or a Jewish baby couldn't have been raised by the Pharaoh's daughter as her own kid.  Some people insist the Egyptians were black!  I have to doubt it.

The Egyptians range widely in color, by the way, from very pale to sub-Saharan dark. Ancient Egyptians and Israelis likely did, too. There were, reportedly, a group who were very fair and even blonde-haired.
