Why is Brooklyn more cheaper in New York City for housing than in Manhattan?

    Brooklyn has more space. Manhattan is a little island.

    People hate commuting.  Depending on where you are in Brooklyn (like Carnasie) can take an hour to get into town.

    The good jobs are in Manhattan. People who live there can walk to work. People who live in Brooklyn have a half hour commute to Manhattan.

    Brooklyn is three times larger than Manhattan, but Brooklyn's population is only 59% higher than Manhattan.  The Law of Supply and Demand is at work here.
