What Style Of Music Is This?
This is a style of music you see in rock and blues. It's where the singer pretty much talks....while playing a rhythm on his guitar.
The talking has a faint rhythm too. But you get the idea. It's basically where the singer is telling a story as he plays a rhythm on the guitar and then from time to time plays licks.
An example is George Thorogood. He does this a lot. His song ' One bourbon, one scotch, one beer ' features this kind of talking singing.
I've heard a couple of other rock and blues artists do this too. What is this style of music called?

It's called talking blues folk-rock. Arlo Guthrie's song Alice's Restaurant is a perfect example of the style.

First of all, R&B does not stand for rock and blues, it stands for Rhythm and Blues. Sometimes a Blues singer would talk while playing his instrument, mostly guitar or piano. This was the early style of rapping. Rap was a slang word meaning to talk which was used during the 40's and 50's.

Folk Blues/Blues period. Need to go much further back than Thorogood. The second video IMO was Hopkins masterpiece.

I saw a TV ad for one of those music compilations some people put out. "Love songs of the 70's" and stuff. This one was "Story songs" and I'd never heard the term before. The samples were heavy on the C&W and pop, but there was Convoy, Harper Valley PTA, The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Yes, all similar to Alice's Restaurant. In my early teens was "Moose Turd Pie". "Well, I got a job on a cattle drive and somebody had to cook........"
