In this time of coronavírus frenzy, would it wise to accept a teaching position in Thailand?

No.

Firstly you will not be able to get insurance should you fall ill with Covid and Thai hospitals require cash upfront for valid insurance before they will treat you.

Secondly the Thai government like to pick on foreigners so any minor infringement of especially covid regulations is likely to get you into serious trouble.

Of course not , Thailand is a high risk area. 

No, I would wait.  Even with the figures showed by the Thai government I would doubt those figures are accurate.  The government is only interested in tourist and they are not coming.  Anywhere in this world that has the virus, it is very possible to get in large crowds of people.  I was planning to fly to New York in April but canceled.  You never know who or where someone has been that could be on the flight.

Thailand has most of it under control.  The airlines are cleaning their planes zealously.   My first reaction was get out of the US as fast as possible.  Before it gets worse here.  Your worse possible case is that someone else traveling may have it on the plane.  The CDC does not have the most accurate figures on the the current flu season, why because it does not consider the flu that dangerous yet it kills an average of 30,000 people annually.  This flu season they already estimate it has killed in the United State 20,000 to 50,000.  Covid-19 is nothing compared to the current flu VIRUS
